The Mens’ Hobby Shed was started was started after Keith Beech saw a programme on TV and was inspired to create a good place of fellowship for men from within the Church, as well as a great opportunity for ministry outreach to men from the local community. Once the idea took hold a group of men volunteered their time in the construction of workbenches and the general set-up was built from timber donated David Denning who helped build the Church. Donations of lathes, power tools, saws, welding equipment and many other items have created the ideal workshop.
The new year has ushered in a new era for the Mens’ Shed with an expanded working area making it much safer and providing adequate working space for each person to work on their projects. We have a number of new machines in operation, thicknesser, jointer, sander, bandsaw, and dust collectors to extract the dust as we make it.
We are in the process of constructing 3 more work benches to fill up the new area.
Come along and join us on Tuesday or Saturday between 9 am and 12 pm all are welcome! See Albert, John, Keith or contact the church office for more information.
