Emergency Relief

Emergency Relief LogoWindsor District Baptist Church Emergency Relief Incorporated is an organisation set up to provide assistance to those in need and/or financial crisis. Assistance is given in the form of vouchers for a variety of essential products and services.

Types of assistance:

  • Electricity and Gas: You must bring an original bill, not a reminder notice or disconnection notice; bill must be in the name of the person attending the interview. EAPA vouchers will only be issued depending on the result of the interview and how many vouchers have been issued in the last twelve months.
  • Water: You must bring an original bill, not a reminder notice or disconnection notice; bill must be in the name of the person attending the interview.
  • Happy FamilyTelephone: You must bring an original bill, not a reminder notice or disconnection notice; bill must be in the name of the person attending the interview.
  • Food: When available food vouchers will be issued at the discretion of the case worker. Vouchers are marked ”Groceries Only”
  • Fuel: When available fuel vouchers will be issued at the discretion of the case worker. Vouchers are marked ”Fuel Only”
  • Chemist: When available chemist vouchers will be issued at the discretion of the case worker. Only medications on prescriptions. Prescriptions must be for the person attending the interview.
  • Bargain Barn: Vouchers are valid at the Windsor District Baptist Church’s Bargain Barn, and are for pre-loved clothing and household goods.
  • Food Parcels: On occasion, we have food hampers available which are generously donated by members of the community.

People wishing to apply for assistance must make an appointment for an interview with a case worker during our office hours. Voucher types and amounts will be issued at the discretion of the case worker based on the outcome of the interview and how many vouchers have been issued in the last twelve months.

What to bring to your interview

  • Emergency Relief InterviewCurrent Drivers License
  • Medicare Card
  • Pension Card and Statement of Income
  • Proof of Age Card (if no drivers license)
  • Any bill that you require assistance for (must be an original bill, not a reminder notice or disconnection notice; must be in the name of the person attending the interview)
