Rev. Jonathan Hoffman – Lead Pastor

Jonathan came to WDBC in 2015 from the Outback of Bourke, NSW, where he served five years as pastor of the Bourke Christian Church and became an Australian citizen. Born and raised in Yorba Linda, California (USA) – birthplace of Richard Nixon – Jonathan left sunny Orange County for the windy city of Chicago to attend Wheaton College as an undergraduate student. Along with earning a bachelor’s degree in political science, Jonathan also met his beloved wife, Joanna, at Wheaton. She would later graduate with a degree in Spiritual Formation and Christian ministry. In 2004 the couple was married and moved to Washington, D.C., where Jonathan worked as a legal assistant to the Hon. Kenneth W. Starr.
A little over a year into their marriage, Jonathan discerned a call to ministry and moved back to Chicago, IL to pursue seminary training for pastoral ministry. Three years later Pastor Jonathan returned to California with two degrees (M.Div, Th.M Church History) and one child (Ellie) added to their family. After exploring church planting opportunities through an internship with Ambassador Church (Brea, CA), Jonathan followed the Lord’s call to pastor in Bourke, NSW Australia. Having been married over 15 years, Joanna and Jonathan now have four children. The Lord added three boys (Elijah, Joshua, and Noah) to change their small family into a large one. After spending time with his family, Jonathan enjoys most sports (but especially NFL, NBA), news, and technology.
Asked to describe his style of leadership, Jonathan answered, “I would call myself a Shepherd at heart who leads in a Coach style; someone who shares vision for God’s Kingdom with prophetic urgency.” He then added, “I hope to encourage others to see what God can do through them because of what He has already done for them in Christ.”
Jonathan and Joanna hold a firm conviction that the Lord has called them to Windsor District Baptist Church. In 2017, Jonathan became an Accredited Minister under the Baptist Association of NSW & ACT. He and Joanna enjoy seeing God’s work unfold at WDBC, which they pray will become a beacon for gospel throughout the Hawkesbury region and beyond.
Stephen Cole – Associate Pastor: Youth & Young Adults

Stephen came to Windsor in 2019 with three years of experience in pastoral ministry from his time at The Hub Baptist Church in Grafton, NSW. There he served first as Youth Pastor before transitioning to Lead Pastor in 2017. Here at WDBC, Stephen serves as the Pastor over Anchored Youth, our ministry to high school students. Later in 2019, Stephen will help launch our ministry to young adults (ages 18-35ish). He is also concurrently engaged in theological study at Morling College, where he hopes to aims to complete his Bachelor of Ministry in the next couple of years. Stephen and his wife, Jess, are expecting their third child this year.
Stephen brings a gospel-shaped passion for discipleship, a grace- based approach to shepherding, and an aptitude for relating to young people. We see in him someone gifted by the Spirit in faith, leadership, and teaching.
Rev. Noel Edwardes – Congregational Care Pastor

Noel is the longest tenured member of the WDBC Pastoral Team, given his prior service as Senior Pastor from 1999-2014. Now semi-retired, Noel re-joined the staff of WDBC in 2018 as the Congregational Care Pastor. In his new role, Noel provides the nurturing voice and calming wisdom of a trusted shepherd. Rev. Edwardes brings a wealth of experience along with a stabilising presence as we seek to provide dedicated spiritual care. His gifts of faith, wisdom, and compassion are greatly exercised by Christ in the building of His Church here at WDBC.
Noel has served previously at Narrabeen Baptist Church, as the President of the Baptist Union, and most recently, as Interim Pastor at Kurrajong Baptist Church. He has resided in the Hawkesbury with his wife, Anne, for the past twenty years. Alongside the joys of his own children and grand-children, Noel has developed a robust enthusiasm for model trains.
