Interview: Joey Millard

Hey Friends!

I’m super excited to share this short interview I did with Joey Millard of Sunrise International Ministires.

You might be asking, “Who’s Joey?” Well, Joey and I have a friendship that goes way back to Wheaton College, where we shared majors and an apartment.

He was an influential voice in discerning a call to ministry and the decision to enroll in theological study at TEDS.

But really he’s just a guy that loves Jesus and wants to share that joy with others. He and his wife, Ai, live in northern Japan where they serve as missionaries planting churches - particularly among the young people.

We took some time to catch-up over Zoom to discuss a few things:

• How the church should respond to national disasters

• How we can continue “being” the church even in isolation

• What lessons churches in the West can learn from churches on the margins in society

• Where we have seen God’s faithfulness, particularly in response to prayer
